How do I pack my products for shipping?
In previous years, participants have been very creative when it comes to packaging their product parcels for the competition. However, not all solutions turned out well – sometimes the bottles broke in transit or the packaging made it difficult to unpack the product without damage. Therefore, we have prepared a short guide on how to prepare parcels for shipping.
- Make sure that all the products you send in match the competition entry you sent in and that there is a permanently affixed label or replacement label on each to identify the product.
- Products such as beer, cider or mead should be packaged in cans or bottles with a cap, cork or screw cap. Dried cannabis should be carefully protected from moisture and other external influences. Caution! Bottles with patent seals have a tendency to leak during transport, so please do not use them.
- Count if the number of bottles, dry samples or designs is correct - it depends on which competition you are entering, the capacity of the bottles and the product itself. You will find details in the terms and conditions.
- All products must be clean, tightly secured and undamaged!
- Group the products so that they are easy to find.
- Choose the right packaging. The best for this will be: → bottle crates → sturdy cardboard boxes of the right size What does not work? → too big a box and no filling → too small a cardboard box with, e.g. a bottle neck sticking out of it → a mix of several cardboard boxes → no rigid packaging at all (e.g. shipment wrapped in bubble wrap and stretch film only)
- If needed, choose a good filler or additional protection: → polystyrene packaging with bottle embossing → air-covers for bottles and other dedicated protections → air cushions → bubble wrap (loosely wrapped, without sealing tape) → paper and cardboard fillers in large formats Please do not use: → stretch foil → granulates and small fillers → sawdust → crumpled up newspapers → straw → broken or shredded polystyrene foam → fillers that soil → fillers that make a mess when unpacking → rubbish
- Secure cartons with tape. Do not stretch!
- If you are shipping a larger quantity of products, it is best to send it on a pallet. Make sure it is well packed and protected.
We would like to remind you that the Organiser is not responsible for products that are damaged in transit. However, if a damaged parcel arrives, we will contact you to inform you of this. The Organiser is also not responsible for parcels that are lost in transit, detained by customs or arrive late – we recommend that you use reliable carriers and send your parcels well in advance.
Consignments must be paid for and all additional costs associated with shipping, such as customs fees, must be covered by the sender. By taking part in the competition, the participant declares to comply with all customs obligations resulting from the shipment of alcohol and cannabis products from the participant’s country to Poland.
Submitted samples are non-returnable.
